Wildflower season in Alta’s Albion Basin

For the first time in its 80-year history, Alta is open for summer! Visit Alta in July for wildflower season and take the Sunnyside chairlift to access alpine lakes and blooming wildflower trails. Thorughout summer, enjoy live music every Saturday from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Albion Grill. Its full menu is also available seven days a week with coffee offered at Alta Java on hilidays and weekends. Over at Alta Lodge, enjoy the local favorite Sunday Brunch from 9:30 a.m.–2 p.m. each week. Make it a staycation with $129 lodging rates on Saturday nights that include brunch.

Brian Head

Road trip to this Southern Utah resort for affordable, exhilarating summer activities: zipline, bungee trampoline, avalanche tubing, archery, disc golf, and climbing wall. Two chairlifts offer scenic lift rides along with mountain biking and hiking trail access. Summer lift operations run through mid–September, Friday through Sunday only.

Ride challenging mountain biking trails, take a hike, or enjoy a scenic chairlift ride during the summer season from now until September 3. Deer Valley is also open weekends until September 16. Ride new lift-served downhill mountain biking trails, or simply enjoy views from above on scenic chairlift rides. Keep your kids busy when school’s out at Kids’ Summer Adventure Camp. Offered until August 22, this popular day camp for ages 1–12 focuses on outdoor activities paired with crafts and games.

Park City Mountain Resort

Looking for an adrenaline rush? Head to Park City’s base to ride the alpine slide, 4,000-foot alpine coaster, or venture into the mountains with a chairlift ride to mountain biking, hiking, and running trails. Younger children can take on the human maze and amusement park rides at the resort base. Canyons Village base 18-hole golf course, zip tours, hiking, mountain biking, disc golf, pedal boats, fishing, and putting is open all summer long.

Powder Mountain

Beat hiking crowds on 26+ miles of free hiking and biking trails open daily to the public from dawn to dusk. Visit Powder Mountain’s website to download the summer trail map and remember to ride/hike with a buddy as these trails are not patrolled. Bike rentals and tacos available at Hidden Lake Bike Shop. Open Friday–Sunday from 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. at the top of Powder Ridge Drive.

Scenic gondola rides, hiking, mountain biking, mountain-top dining, outdoor concerts, and disc golf are available all summer long until October 7, Saturdays and Sundays 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. The popular FREE Blues, Brews, and BBQ summer concert series are held every Sunday until September 30. Mount Ogden Midweek Mountain Bike Races are every Wednesday until August 29 (no race on July 4th).

Snowbird

Ride 3,120 feet of turns and drops at a speed controlled by the driver on the Mountain Coaster or go for a ride on the new summer tubing hill. Buy an all-day adventure pass and add on the Mountain Flyer, alpine slide, climbing wall, Woodward WreckTangle, and scenic tram rides. Kids’ activities like mini tree climb and gemstone mining round out the offerings. Hike in Mineral Basin or back to the base using the Aerial Tram or Peruvian Chairlift.

Solitude Mountain Resort

Find some solitude with scenic lift rides and lift-served hiking and mountain biking on the Sunrise Chair Fridays–Sundays until September 30, or play a round of disc golf on Solitude’s 18-hole high-alpine course. Summer events include free outdoor yoga on Saturdays, the VIGOR Solitude Mountain Resort Trail Series, the Midweek Mountain Bike Series (July 17), Pigs & Pinot (August 4), an intimate five-course dinner with optional wine pairing at our communal tables, and Taste of The Wasatch (August 5), a popular food and wine fundraiser in the mountains.

Sundance Mountain Resort

Whether you crave an adrenaline rush or a relaxing day, Sundance has it. Take a chill chairlift ride, go downhill mountain biking, ride a horse, or lace up your boots for a hike. Sundance has 10 miles of lift-served hiking trails for beginners to experts and 25+ miles of lift-serviced, singletrack mountain biking. Ride the ZipTour’s four zip lines, including one with a 2,100-foot vertical drop, for views of Mount Timpanogos from the sky. Stay for the summer theatre production of Oklahoma! from July 19–August 11.

Utah Olympic Park

Park City’s Utah Olympic Park is open for summer until October 21 and offers all-age adventures and exhilarating summer activities. Thrillseekers come for the Comet Bobsled, Extreme Zipline, Extreme Tubing on the Nordic Ski Jump, ropes course, and the alpine slide. Or visit the Olympic and ski museums, go for a scenic chairlift ride, and watch the Flying Aces perform a choreographed freestyle aerial ski show on weekends. Buy a season pass for unlimited use of Olympic Park amenities, or a Gold Pass for unlimited day use.
